i've got a fun cousin, Safire, who's a professional magician, and vox'ing! (actually don't know if anyone's using that as a verb like blogging, yet)
Go check out her cool pics and videos... She's got even cooler stuff if you're a friend/family...
Here in Santa Cruz at the Seacliff Inn, where we're demo'ing how our electronic medical record will revolutionize the Santa Cruz Medical Foundation's efficiency... after they get trained, which is why we're here. It's amazing how much input it takes to get folks trained, there are 6 trainers here from Sutter, 7 from Palo Alto Medical Foundation, 1 from Epic, and 5 from Camino Medical Group. We've been working through a standard visit, and so far the only complaint is the need to add all of the immunization histories of the kids in the clinic: 6 pediatricians with 700 kids = 4200 immunization records (with a dozen to enter per patient) but that's a one time entry, with the benefit of being able to look them up infinitely afterwards.
I'm still jetlagged, but thank goodness over the flu. Yep, caught influenza A while in Singapore... whereas I thought the 20 hours of fevers & chills during the flight back was due to a bacterial bronchitis, thank goodness I saw Charlie Weiss at our urgent care, who's our flu expert. He swabbed me, and it was positive. Fortunately, he didn't wait for the test to result, but started me on tamiflu while waiting. 14 hours after starting tamiflu, felt a whole lot better. Didn't even have to use much of the robitussin with codiene I was worried I'd have to use a ton of to suppress my cough.
Miss my family, they'll be back in a week. Yesterday was filled with seeing friends, breakfast & lunch with buddies from our bible study (Brenda Beiter & Thomas Yu), Snack with Simon Chan. Work from 5pm-9pm, then hanging out at Baba Neo with Simon & David Chen. But still felt empty without my family around. ;(
They're watching an Elmo show in Pasar Ris wtih Perry Yuen & family right now, if you can believe it. Singapore hasn't avoided the little red guy.
Called this morning to ask if they'd have breakfast, since i couldn't sleep and didn't want to take ambien again... They said yes. I should have asked WHAT they had for breakfast, because i don't consider coffee cake breakfast... although the fresh OJ is yummy.
